7DaysDedicated started as a play on 7 Days to Die. When I started 7DaysDedicated it was just a name used to create a dynamic DNS address to connect to the 7 Days to Die server I was hosting for me and my friends. The full name was 7daysdedicated.servebeer.net which lead to the ServeBeer discord being born — that is now the 7DaysDedicated Gaming Community Discord.
The serve beer theme fit well because beer was a pivotal item for a quest where you have to fight zombies buzzed, and because it also helped with stamina drain. So, the two came together — 7DaysDedicated for how many days of the week the servers are online and because I was hosting 7 Days to Die. And ServeBeer because you gotta have beer to survive in 7 Days to Die.
Slowly different games would be hosted, and I even got asked to help build another gaming community — Chronic Gaming (which is a good group if you get the chance, check them out as well) — but I decided to move on from that group. Not for any particular reason, I just felt I wanted to further my gaming community.
Now, I have servers and run 7DaysDedicated completely from my house. I manage everything from the servers down to the hosts and game servers.
We're a community of like-minded gamers hoping to grow our community and partner with other communities to expand availability of games and come together. I hope to build a partnership for non-toxic gamers to have choices to find the type of game they like, and communities they want to be part of.
