Ritual | OSRS with its own progression, in active alpha

A RuneLite client, familiar Old School content and Ritual’s own systems, built on an independently developed server.

Ritual is an OSRS private server being built from the ground up. Its alpha brings together skilling, quests, PvM, player trading and social features, alongside optional daily challenges and the Altar of Tribute. Join to explore what is working, test new additions and help shape the server before release.

What makes it Ritual?

• Daily challenges: 12 optional tasks with individual rewards and completion milestones. Supported gathering and XP activities track progress across logins; boss and minigame tasks are still being developed.
• The Altar of Tribute: six shared daily offerings let you exchange selected items for saved Tribute points, then spend them on supplies at the Tribute Exchange.
• Character choices: choose from the alpha’s account-mode and XP-rate options, with a preview before confirming. Mode restrictions are still being refined.
• A player-driven market: trade directly or place Grand Exchange offers that match with other players. Website market tools include offers, recent trades, price charts and a watchlist. Trading and the economy remain under alpha testing.
• A connected community: Friends Chat, player-owned channels, clans and a Clan Hub, with further clan features in development.

Skills, quests and encounters

The alpha covers gathering and production routes, including woodcutting, mining, fishing, cooking, smithing, fletching and Herblore. There are also Slayer assignments, Motherlode Mine, Catherby Farming, Agility routes, Hunter activities and an early player-owned-house system. Coverage varies by skill, with additional activities and mechanics still in development.

Classic quest routes include Cook’s Assistant, Sheep Shearer and The Restless Ghost. Travel includes spellbook teleports, charged jewellery and Ritual’s destination menus.

Kraken and Crazy archaeologist are marked live in the playtest guide. Other encounters available for alpha testing include King Black Dragon, Sarachnis, Cerberus, Wintertodt and Zalcano, with mechanics, presentation or rewards still being finished. Consult the guide and staff for the scope supported by your current build.

Alpha status and testing

Ritual’s public roadmap separates live content, implemented work, partial features and future plans. Barrows, Fight Caves, Gauntlet and raids still have wider work in progress. An implemented feature is not necessarily deployed to every world.

When staff enable alpha access, commands such as ::supplies, ::items and ::pvm help you prepare tests without gathering every item first. Expect bugs, balance changes and possible progress resets. Specific reports and complete playthroughs of individual activities are especially useful.

Join the alpha

1. Create a Ritual account. The same account is used on the website and in game.
2. Download Ritual RuneLite. Windows and Apple Silicon Mac installers are available, with client updates checked at launch.
3. Choose an activity in the playtest guide and join the Discord to share your results.
